Widening the world for dogs and their humans.

- Cassidy Lamothe

My name is Cassidy LaMothe and I am passionate about helping dogs and their people build better lives together through play and relationship-based training. My philosophy is informed by science, compassion, and extensive experience.

I grew up in Southern Vermont, where my love for animals began. From an early age, I was training not just dogs, but bunnies, birds, horses, hamsters, and even mice. That natural connection with animals grew into a passion for understanding behavior and helping others do the same.

My education in dog training comes both from extensive hands on experience, as well as a dedication to lifelong learning. In 2019, I earned my certification through the Certification Council for Professional Dog Trainers (CCPDT) and I certified from Ivan Balabanov’s Training Without Conflict (TWC) school in early 2026. I have invested heavily in continuing education, regularly attending conferences, seminars, and workshops with some of the most respected leaders in the industry.

When not working, I enjoy hiking and horseback riding with my husband and our pack of four dogs.

My Philosophy

I believe dogs thrive when the world makes sense to them.

Training isn’t about suppressing behavior, it’s about reframing the dog’s experience so they can move through life with confidence.

Often, people come to me after already working with multiple other trainers. Sometimes they’ve experienced harsh, heavy-handed training that creates a dog who lacks joy, enthusiasm, or trust in their handler. Other times, they’ve experienced training that feels like avoiding and “tossing treats at the problem” without ever creating true clarity.

I offer an alternative.

There is no one-size-fits-all approach. Each dog must be assessed as an individual. My goal is a happy, resilient, enthusiastic partner who can safely experience life alongside their human.

The dog training industry is completely unregulated, and there is tremendous conflict surrounding methodologies. I encourage my clients to leave the noise behind and watch the dog in front of them. The proof is in the dog’s body language and energy! True training produces clarity, confidence, and joy — not fear, shutdown behavior, or chaos masked by treats.

“Bird is doing GREAT with her new friend. Five humans and three dogs were on an off leash walking today and the doggies were running around and playing and super awesome!.. She is doing AMAZING in the city and i just wanted to say thanks again. I never imagined she would be such an easy city dog and here we are.”

- Birdie's Owner

“Orzo is thriving in the city! Hasn't barked or lunged a single time. Pretty much glued to my hip. Incredible.. Seems so much more comfortable in his skin. Really nice to see.”

- Orzo's Owner

“She's doing so great! She was a total rockstar in the airport and in the plane. She has had several exciting reunions and hasn’t jumped on anyone! The "with me" command is amazing. I'm really grateful.
